Author's Note A “Woman’s Toolbox” was created when I realized that I was surrounded by many wise women friends my age, who were teaching, counseling or coaching other people. It was the very creative work that I experienced, and the insights that I gained from my own personal, heart-centered coaching, facilitated by Joan Ramstedt, which gave me the inspiration to create this workbook. The very clever artwork you see on this website was created by a wonderful friend of mine & visionary, Catherine Tilley, Founder of The Institute for Global Healing, a center created for the education for the empowerment of humanity & the healing of ourselves, our children and our global community. Catherine is also the publisher of The Global Voice Magazine, a catalyst for peace, WISE, A Women's Resource for Living Happy, Healthy, Wealthy and Wise. Catherine Tilley Most of the contributing authors of this workbook were all young women when the “women’s lib” movement started in the 1960’s. Some of us threw away our bras and most of us donned suits & carried briefcases as we headed off to make our own way in the world. We have married, divorced, some of us have raised our families alone, and have had many, sometimes unplanned for, diverse jobs & careers in our lives. Now we are looking at life from the “Wise Woman” stage. It is our intent to share with younger women, the knowledge we have gained over the years, during this time of increased awareness of, and the need for, respecting and balancing the role of women in society.
I would especially like to thank the two most important people in my life: my daughter, Gwen, a wise soul herself, who grew up in a single parent household, and Dennis, my partner, for supporting & encouraging me, at this stage of my life, in my creativity.
So, whether you are starting out or have been “around the block” a few times, I know you will find many exciting tools here to assist you in creating a more balanced, happy, fulfilled and successful life for yourself.
